Peace Screens, a tool for reconstruction and dialogue
The Guild is, For years, partner of Ecrans de la Paix, an association under the 1901 law founded by enthusiasts of the world of cinema wishing to use this art as a tool for dialogue and reconstruction. En Iraq, the DRC, Armenia and Syria, the Peace Screens work with local partners to organize film screenings and debate and discussion sessions following these screenings, with as a goal to offer spaces for access to dreams and development of the imagination à these children, and to (re)create the foundations of a dialogue between communities.
TUTENDE JUU YA AMANI Project: Let’s act for peace
In the fall of 2023, with the support of the Crisis and Support Center of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, La Guilde and Ecrans de la Paix in partnership with the Club RFI Goma are launching the project “TUTENDE JUU YA AMANI : Let's act for peace” in the Kivu region in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
For several years now, the Ecrans de la Paix have supported the Club RFI Goma in organizing cinema screenings in orphanages, at the juvenile prison in the city of Goma as well as in displaced persons camps in the Nyiragongo territory. This new project led by La Guilde aims to expand these activities, to continue to use cinema as a tool for dialogue, reconstruction and peace by adding psychological support offered by therapists to displaced women and children and survivors of crimes and rapes. of war. The project also aims to open a projection room within the Panzi hospital in Bukavu and the integration of cinema therapy into the holistic approach developed by the latter.
