Country Manager

Description of the association:

 

Envol Vert is a forest protection and rural development association created in 2011 to fight for the preservation of forests and biodiversity in Latin America (mainly Colombia and Peru) and in France. It creates strong links with local populations to promote their preservation initiatives, participate in sustainable rural development and develop economic alternatives to deforestation. Envol Vert is also strongly involved in raising awareness through public awareness and advocacy campaigns. More information on: http://envol-vert.org

 

Mission

 

The Country Manager's mission is to coordinate the activities of the Envol Vert association and to contribute to its development in Colombia. This mainly involves institutional representation at the country level, prospecting and monitoring financial, technical and commercial partnerships, HR supervision of project and cluster coordinators, and supervision of the financial and legal process.

 

Partnerships and institutional representation (50% time)

  • Establish and monitor financial partnerships (donors and companies) for the financing of the structure's projects: Dry Forest Program, Socota project, Amazon Project, Sumate al Bosque Awareness Festival and Colombia Forest Footprint awareness campaign
  • Establish and monitor technical partnerships likely to facilitate the implementation of projects (Universities, research institutes), in conjunction with the Foundation's economic alternatives manager
  • Develop the Foundation’s service offering
  • Represent the Envol Vert association within networks of interest to the structure

 

Supervision of activities and country coordination (25%)

  • General coordination of activities in Colombia, coordination of the development of the Annual Operational Plan (AOP) in compliance with the overall strategy of the association, ensures overall coherence, monitoring of indicators and management of the participation of the Colombia team during strategic reflections
  • Supervision of the Dry Tropical Forest program in conjunction with the 2 program coordinators. Specific support in the management of donor monitoring, in particular monitoring of the AFD partnership and the consortium
  • Supervision of communication and awareness activities in conjunction with the communications and awareness manager
  • Participation in the PIPA (shared management) of the association bringing together the main managers in the 3 countries and in different working groups, and contribution to transversality between countries.

 

Supervision of the administrative and financial process (10%)

  • Supervises the work of the Administrative Manager of Envol Vert in Colombia, the accountant and the Auditor
  • Ensures compliance with the legal and financial obligations of the Envol Vert Foundation.
  • Supports teams during the implementation of financial audits (AFD in particular)

 

HR management (15%)

  • Recruitment and monitoring of fixed Envol Vert teams in Colombia (6 employees) and French volunteers
  • Implementation of the HR policy and team well-being monitoring in accordance with the Envol Vert strategy

 

Positioning and work structure

  • The country manager will liaise with the Founder and legal representative of Envol Vert in Colombia on all aspects of country strategy and foresight.
  • He/she supervises all of Envol Vert's permanent teams in Colombia: the field program manager, the economic alternatives manager, the conservation project manager, the communications and awareness manager and the administrative and financial manager.
  • The country manager is in permanent contact with other countries via PIPA and other working groups. He attends the association's board meetings as a guest.

 

Location and conditions

  • Bogota, in person (possibility of 1 to 2 days of teleworking) within the association's country office.
  • Occasional visit to field projects (3 to 4 times per year in total) for team supervision.
  • A laptop will be made available.
  • There is no provision for accommodation or vehicle linked to the role of country manager.

 

Training

  • Higher education Bac +4/5 in the fields of international cooperation, project management, organizational management, administrative and financial management, commerce, agronomy, rural development, environmental management

 

Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in one of the following sectors and/or positions: International solidarity project management, Partnerships and fundraising, management functions of an organization (NGO, Foundation, Company), Administrative management and financial and human resources
  • Knowledge of agronomy, ecology and sustainable natural resource management projects will be highly appreciated.
  • Knowledge of the world of non-profit organizations and international solidarity will be highly valued
  • Knowledge of Colombia will be a plus

 

Languages

  • Mastery of French AND Spanish in a completely fluent and fluent manner is essential for taking charge and managing the position (Level C1/C2). This criterion being prohibitive, we invite candidates who do not have a complete and fluent command of both languages ​​not to apply.
  • A command of written English will be valued, which allows responding to English-speaking calls for projects and will facilitate partnership relations in certain specific cases.

  • Administrative and financial management of medium-sized entities
  • Project supervision (strategic and logistical supervision, administrative and budgetary monitoring, team management and mission supervision), particularly on team monitoring
  • Management and team management, in the spirit of sociocracy and self-governance (great autonomy, concerted and participatory decision-making)

 

Conditions

 

Envol Vert will be responsible for:

  • An international round trip France/Colombia (once a year)
  • A net monthly compensation of 1 euros

The volunteer will be responsible for:
