International solidarity project support officer

ESSENTIAL is a French association under the law of 1901 based in Nantes, created in 1992. Its mission is to promote access to health for populations. Its general objective is to act for a more just and united world where everyone can enjoy good health and preserve their well-being as well as that of their family by having access to prevention and quality care.

More specifically, it aims to:

  • Support health projects for the benefit of populations,
  • Strengthen and support local stakeholders to promote local management of health projects,
  • Promote a logic of network of actors around health issues in a territory,
  • Develop institutional partnerships in the countries of intervention.

 

Description

 

Since 2017, ESSENTIEL has supported a multi-stakeholder dynamic that promotes health, in particular through physical activity, healthy eating and the inclusion of children and young people with disabilities, in the territory of Rufisque in Senegal. This second phase of the project aims to firmly anchor the dynamic initiated in the territory.

To support the implementation of the AGILS project (AGir for Local Health Initiatives – promotion of an inclusive territory, favorable to the health and well-being of children and young people), ESSENTIEL is looking for a manager. support for the project, in VSI from April 2024 based in Rufisque in Senegal.

 

Mission

 

The specific missions of the animation and co-piloting of this project (80%) will be:

  • Plan and implement project activities in conjunction with the local coordinator based in Benin and the project manager based in Nantes
  • Support the organization and running of meetings of the project Executive Committee in conjunction with the local coordinator
  • Support the administrative and financial monitoring of the project
  • Coordinate the production of activity monitoring reports and project indicators in conjunction with the local coordinator and the Executive Committee
  • Implement qualitative monitoring of the project (collection of qualitative data, focus group)
  • Drive a dynamic of capitalization of the project within the Executive Committee
  • Ensure internal project communication (Executive Committee, local partners, headquarters)
  • Ensure external communication / visibility of the project in conjunction with the Executive Committee
  • Contribute to the search for co-financing

 

Under the development of a mental health project partly in the territory of Rufisque, the project support manager will also carry out the following missions (20%):

  • Support for project development with the partner in Rufisque
  • Participate in the territorial diagnosis (meeting of institutional and associative actors) on a national scale
  • Develop synergies with the AGILS project in the inclusion sector
  • Organizational support to the partner based on identified needs
  • Monitoring the registration of the ESSENTIEL association

 

Training

  • TRAY 5
  • Training in international program management / international cooperation

 

Experience

  • Project management (logical framework, monitoring of indicators, budget, etc.)
  • Mastery of IT tools (Office 365)
  • International solidarity project experience (at least 2 years)
  • Independent professional stay experience internationally (in Africa, a Plus)
