Virlanie est une organisation non gouvernementale située à Manille aux Philippines, qui opère au sein de 12 maisons familiales d'accueil, offrant un toit, de la nourriture, une éducation et de l'affection à plus de 1 200 enfants des rues, avec le concours de cinq programmes supports contribuant au développement personnel des enfants, et quatre autres programmes externes qui visent à enrayer la misère et combattre l'injustice dans les communautés les plus pauvres de Manille.
Gérée par une équipe de 130 salariés Philippins et assistée d'environ 40 volontaires, à la fois philippins et étrangers, la fondation a aidé des milliers d'enfants depuis qu'elle a été créée en 1992. Elle est enregistrée à la Commission de Sécurité et d'Echange, est dûment reconnue et accréditée par le Département des Affaires Sociales (DSWD) philippin, est aussi membre du Conseil National Philippin Contre la Prostitution de l'Enfant (PNCACP), et enfin membre du Parti de Défense des Droits des Enfants (WPOCR) qui travaille avec le département de la justice.

Sadly, we are forced to witness that the children have only limited times of freedom from their cells. Therefore, we have created activities for groups of 10 children several times during the week..
The Reception Action Center is a Manila City Hall structure to receive street living populations, of all ages and various profiles: street children (girls/boys), found, lost, families, elderly persons, abandoned, abused (physically, sexually, exploited), battered women, drug addicts, errands. These profiles can be categorized into three major groups: all street children, all persons considered as non-autonomous, and migrants from the provinces waiting to be sent back to their home place (a government program).
• Provide recreational and educational activities
• Ensure social work follow up through interviews in order to communicate information to the RAC social workers (2)
• Prepare and animate recreational and educational activities for the children (3).
• Maintain and update the database of all proposed activities and information recorded (4)
• Facilitate greater collaboration and integration with the RAC staff (5).
All volunteers working in the RAC need to be able to integrate and collaborate with the Filipino team composed of public workers from the government. In order to facilitate this integration, all volunteers need to be willing and open to learning Tagalog.
